DR. BLAINE BIRD, O.D.

Biography

Blaine Bird, O.D. was raised in Springville, Utah where he is happy to reside. He and his wife, Marla, are the parents of four children.Dr. Bird graduated from BYU in 1988 and from the University of Houston College of Optometry in 1992. He was honored to receive awards for ocular pathology and contact lens fitting and was the third year student of the year.

While Blaine and Marla loved Texas, they were happy to return to the mountains and seasons of Utah to raise their family. They enjoy hiking, backpacking, hunting, fishing and sports.

For the next 20 years, Dr. Bird enjoyed owning a successful private practice in Provo. In 2013, he felt incredibly fortunate to be asked to join the highly regarded doctors and staff of Utah Valley Eye Center. Dr. Bird is an active member of the Utah Optometric Association where he has served as a trustee, as well as Vice President of Membership and Vice President of Legislation. He currently serves on the legislative committee. Dr. Bird has twice been voted Utah Optometrist of the Year by the Utah Optometric Association. In July, 2014, Gov. Herbert confirmed the appointment of Dr. Bird to serve on the Utah Optometric Licensing Board. Dr. Bird considers eyesight to be a miracle and loves to help people achieve their best possible vision.
