These pre-tax options can make a big difference in affordability.

Does EVO ICL cost more than LASIK?

Yes, EVO ICL does cost more upfront than LASIK, and here’s why that makes sense for many patients:

At Utah Valley Eye Center:

  • LASIK costs $2,300 per eye
  • EVO ICL costs $3,800 per eye.

EVO ICL brings with it many benefits for the cost:

  • It uses a custom-designed lens implant made specifically for your unique prescription
  • The lens is made of Collamer, a premium, biocompatible, and UV filtering material.
  • Unlike LASIK, EVO ICL is reversible. The lens can be removed or replaced if needed.
  • No removal or corneal tissue, making EVO ICL a better option for patients with dry eyes or thin corneas.

While the cost may be higher at first, EVO ICL is a one-time investment with no ongoing maintenance, no need for glasses or contacts, and no product replacements. That can add up to significant savings over time.

Did You Know?

The average person spends over $25,000 on glasses and contact lenses over their lifetime.
That includes:

  • New prescriptions every 1–2 years
  • Contact lenses and solution
  • Frames, lenses, backup glasses
  • Add-ons like anti-reflective coating, blue light protection, and scratch-resistant lenses

EVO ICL could save you thousands—and give you freedom from glasses or contacts.

What is EVO ICL?

EVO ICL (Implantable Collamer Lens) is a vision correction procedure that places a soft, flexible lens inside your eye to correct nearsightedness and astigmatism.

Unlike LASIK, EVO ICL does not remove any corneal tissue. Instead, the lens is gently placed behind your iris and in front of your natural lens—working with your eye’s natural structure to improve your vision.

How Does EVO ICL Work?

EVO ICL corrects your vision by placing a soft, biocompatible lens inside your eye, behind the iris and in front of your natural lens. This lens bends (or refracts) light so it focuses properly on the retina, correcting nearsightedness and astigmatism without removing or reshaping any corneal tissue.

Unlike contact lenses that sit on the surface of your eye, the EVO ICL lens stays in place permanently, yet it’s completely invisible and works with your eye’s natural lens to improve vision.

One of the biggest advantages of EVO ICL is that it’s reversible. If needed, the lens can be removed or replaced in the future, giving you peace of mind and flexibility for long-term vision care.
