DR. GARRET BRINGHURST, OD
Biography
Garret Bringhurst O.D. is a board-certified Optometrist with the NBEO and a member of the Utah Optometric Association. He graduated Optometry School from the Arizona College of Optometry as the valedictorian of his class and was recognized for having the highest scores on his board examinations. He was also awarded the certificate for clinical honors, clinical excellence in primary eye care, and the AZCOPT Dean’s Award.
Dr. Bringhurst grew up in Boise, ID and feels right at home here in Utah Valley surrounded by the beautiful mountains. He enjoys spending time outdoors with his family and is an avid sports fan. He loves to play basketball, golf, and tennis and enjoys cheering on the BYU Cougars and Utah Jazz. After graduating High School, he earned a bachelors of science degree at BYU during which time he met his wife, Alyssa. They were married shortly before moving to Arizona to attend Optometry School during which time they were blessed with two beautiful children.

Dr. Bringhurst practices to the full scope of optometric care and has developed a close partnership with glaucoma specialist Dr. Michael Lloyd at Utah Valley Eye Center in the care and management of glaucoma and its comorbidities. During his training he completed internships at the Eye Foundation of Utah and Massengale Eye Care in Moore, OK where he gained experience diagnosing, and managing complex cases of glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and corneal pathology including keratoconus and dry eye.
As a wearer of glasses and contacts from a young age Dr. Bringhurst has always had a fascination with vision and how we see the world around us. He feels very fortunate to have joined such a wonderful group at Utah Valley Eye Center and is dedicated to helping people achieve their best possible vision and eye health so that life can be enjoyed to the fullest.
