Helping your kids keep their glasses safe

 In Uncategorized

Children are rough on any of their belongings, but this can be especially hazardous for glasses. Glasses are inherently fragile and need to be handled with care. Children that have recently gotten glasses will not know how to take care of them, which puts you at risk for having to buy a replacement pair. Glasses are not the cheapest, and it is a hassle to get them replaced. Teaching your children to take care of their glasses can lessen the chance you will need to replace them. Unfortunately it will not completely eliminate the risk, as accidents happen.

One of the first things that you can teach your kids about their glasses is to always put them into their case whenever they are not wearing them. Building this habit is a great way to make your children responsible for their glasses. If they are in their case or on their face there is no way the glasses can be lost. Eventually it will become like second nature to your children, and will become a part of their routine.

In addition to helping them build this habit, buying your children the proper glasses care items will give them the necessary tools to take care of their eyewear. This includes a quality case that will protect their glasses and cleaning supplies. Cheaper glasses cases can be broken or open up unexpectedly putting the glasses inside at risk for being damaged. Invest in a good case now so you do not have to worry about this issue. Having multiple cases is also a great investment, so there are multiple safe spots for your child’s glasses. Put one by their bed, one in their backpack, and maybe even keep one in the family car.

Eventually your children will be old enough for Provo Lasik Surgery, and they will not have to worry about their glasses anymore.
