How Can We Protect Our Eyes

 In Uncategorized

We often don’t think about the health of our eyes until we start noticing it. Our eyes are one of the most important parts of our body. Without our eyes we could not see. Sight is so important for our lives. We tend to take our eyes and our sight for granted and we often don’t think about really taking care of our eyes. Here I will give you some tips on how you can protect your eyes and keep them healthy.

  1. Keep up with your appointments. This includes appointments with your eye doctor but other doctors as well. Your overall health is very important. Having an annual eye exam can help you know if you are at risk for any major eye disease. It can also ensure that your prescription for your contacts or glasses is up to date.

  1. Wear protective sunglasses and hats. These both will protect your eyes from the sun’s ultraviolet rays. Even if you are wearing sunglasses you can still be exposed to ultraviolet rays. There normally is a gap where the top of your eye and eyelid can be exposed. Wearing a hat will get rid of this problem and your eyes will be completely protected from the sun.

  1. Make sure you eat healthy and drink a ton of water. Eating has a huge impact on how you see and yes it is not just carrots. Eat foods high in Vitamin C, Vitamin E, and zink. These all will help you see better and have healthier eyes.

  1. Get a good night of sleep. As you already know sleep is so important. Your eyes rely on this rest. When you don’t get the rest you need you may find yourself not being able to see as clearly. You need to see especially when driving, cooking, and taking care of kids. Just make sure you’re getting the sleep you and your eyes need.
